Pagoda Square

This ancient pagoda, originally standing on an islet in the Mao River, dates back to the Qianfu era (874-879 AD) of the Tang Dynasty, making it a 1,200-year-old architectural treasure. Designated as a Qingpu District Protected Cultural Relic in 1959 and elevated to Shanghai Municipal Heritage Site status in 1962, the Mao Tower remains an iconic landmark of Shanghai Sun Island, embodying centuries of hydrological and spiritual significance.
